Dental implants in Antalya for UK patients: what to weigh up before you travel
Whether an implant trip is realistic for you is a clinical judgement, and this page helps you ask the right questions before anyone quotes you.
Dental implants from £415 with abutment, or from £595 with a zirconia crown — see our price list.
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root with a titanium or ceramic post that supports a crown, bridge or denture. Because implants need healthy bone and gums and time to integrate, most conventional implant treatments involve more than one visit. The treating clinician decides suitability, implant count and timing after examination and imaging.
Is an implant trip realistic for you?
The clinician will look at factors such as bone volume and quality, gum health, remaining teeth, general health, medication and smoking. Some people need preparatory work, such as extractions, treatment of gum disease or bone grafting, before implants can be placed. Ask whether any of this applies to you and whether it changes the number of trips.
How many trips, and how long
Conventionally, implants are placed on a first visit and left to integrate with the bone for a period the clinician sets; the final crown or bridge is fitted on a later visit. Some cases allow a temporary restoration sooner, but that is a case-by-case decision, not a default. Surgical dental trips generally require four to five nights, according to the treating surgeon. Your quote states how many trips your plan involves.
What your implant quote should spell out
- Number of implants and which teeth they replace.
- Implant system and the material of the final restoration.
- Whether a temporary restoration is included and when the final one is fitted.
- Any preparatory treatment, such as extractions or grafting, and whether it is included.
- Nights, transfers and accommodation per trip, and all exclusions.
Risks and alternatives
Implants have a strong track record, but they are surgery. Risks include infection, failure to integrate, nerve or sinus involvement depending on position, and later problems such as peri-implantitis if hygiene and reviews lapse. Alternatives include bridges and dentures, which may suit some situations better. A good clinician will explain why an implant is or is not the right choice for you.
Aftercare you should plan for
Implants need the same care as natural teeth and regular professional reviews. Before you book, confirm who you contact if something feels wrong after you return, and what follow-up arrangements apply to your case. Read what aftercare and support cover.
Questions worth asking before you decide
Who will place my implants and what are their qualifications?
Ask for the treating clinician’s name and registration. We will provide this for your case; we do not publish a public clinician directory on this website.
Will my plan change after imaging in Antalya?
It can. 3D imaging can reveal bone conditions that change the plan. Ask what the likely alternatives would be and how the quote would change.
What happens if an implant fails?
Ask how the clinic handles integration failure, within what period, and what the cost implications are. Any terms are set out in your written plan; we do not publish general promises about repairs or replacements here.
Can I have implants and crowns in one trip?
Sometimes a temporary restoration is possible, but the final restoration normally follows healing. Be cautious of anyone promising a final result in one short visit without explaining the conditions.
